The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute is dedicated to advancing new robotic technologies to secure national interests and enable US manufacturers to thrive, compete on a global basis, and create new jobs. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, and located near internationally known robotics powerhouse Carnegie Mellon University, the mission of the ARM Institute is to empower American workers to compete with low-wage earners abroad, aid in the creation and sustenance of new jobs, lower the barriers for companies of all sizes to adopt robotics technologies and assert U.S. leadership in advanced manufacturing. The ARM Institute is led by the DoD as part of Manufacturing USA, a network of fourteen institutes selected to advance manufacturing in the U.S. by connecting people, ideas, and technology.
