The Army Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) Program's mission is to provide affordable and timely manufacturing solutions that address the highest priority needs of the Army. ManTech exists to improve end-item affordability by addressing manufacturing and producibility risks, thereby enabling the transition of critical technologies to weapon system platforms. The program accomplishes this by linking Army program offices, the Army Science and Technology (S&T) community and the defense industrial base to demonstrate effective, efficient, affordable and adaptable manufacturing processes that are typically beyond the risk of these groups to address on their own. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research and Technology (DASA(R&T)) oversees the Army ManTech Program, providing strategic guidance linked to Army priorities. The U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM), a subordinate command to the Army Materiel Command (AMC), oversees and manages execution of the U.S. Army ManTech program. Projects within the ManTech portfolio are competitively awarded to the Army S&T and Program Executive Office/Program Manager (PEO/PM) organizations with manufacturing technology related missions. These executing organizations are responsible for coordinating capability goals, deliverables, projected cost/benefit data and conducting transition and implementation planning for the execution of individual ManTech projects.
