Evaluation Criteria for Awards

The evaluators will consist of the voting members of the DoD DMSMS Working Group and the Committee Chairs.

Nominations for individuals will be evaluated as if their individual contributions toward these criteria were as a team and will be scored accordingly with due diligence and common sense exercised by the evaluating personnel.

Individual nominations will NOT use the criteria below.  If a nomination is for an individual award, please indicate this on the nomination submission, and describe accomplishments in narrative form.

Please submit a maximum of 250 words (minimum of 100 words) for each criteria of a team nomination.

Criteria 1

Activities resulting in Exceptional DMSMS Management

  • Assembled a diverse team (has program, OEM, contractor, engineering, logistics or appropriate personnel on the team)
  • Proactively monitors a bill-of-materials
  • Utilizes an analytical toolset (Government and commercial mix as needed)
  • Has a formal DMSMS Management Plan
  • Solves problems early in the life cycle
  • Efficiently reacts as necessary (e.g., can respond to a DLA or GIDEP notice quickly)
  • Shares problems and solutions with the DMSMS community
  • Uses toolset and processes to proactively identify potential DMSMS issues

Criteria 2

Activities resulting in significantly improved quantifiable readiness levels

Criteria 3

Activities leading to substantial cost avoidance(s)

Criteria 4

Activities resulting in the exceptional warfighter support related to or realized though a DMSMS issue

Criteria 5

Activities leading to the creation and/or implementation of a DMSMS “Best Practice”
